About the Author

Jason Weill (pronounced “while”) has worked as a software developer since 2003, most recently at Amazon Web Services. The opinions expressed in this book are the author’s own and do not reflect the opinions of any of his employers, past or present. Jason’s interest in personal finance comes from his family and from experiences talking about finance topics with friends and coworkers. Personal Finance for People in Tech is Jason’s first book. Jason grew up in Syosset, New York, received a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Carnegie Mellon University in 2003, and has lived in Seattle since 2006. This book was originally written in Markdown primarily using Visual Studio Code. It was converted into formats suitable for publication using Pandoc. Special thanks to Thorsten Ball, whose article “The Tools I Use To Write Books” was very helpful.
